ANDES MOUNTAIN CHILE & WINE EXPERIENCE
The Andes Mountains were formed at around 120 million years ago by the continuous movements of two tectonic plates, the South American and Nazca in the Pacific Ocean. This great mountain chain is the largest in the world, going from Venezuela to the Cabo de Hornos, parallel to the Pacific’s coastline. Its name in Aymara language means “Mountain that illuminates.”
Today we will enter in this beautiful mountain chain that has a total length of 9.000 kilometers of which 4.600 kilometers belong to Chilean territory. We will cross its hidden valleys so we can be delighted with its beautiful landscapes.
We will visit Farellones and Valle Nevado that in winter time are amazing ski resorts. In both we will feel the mountain winds and possibly watch some Chilean Condors. As optional activities, we can do a guided trekking, horseback riding, or a chairlift ride to the top of a hill.
During the day we will have lunch in a restaurant of typical Chilean food and have a technical tasting of Chile’s iconic wine variety, Carménère.
